Bulldog Softball General Skills Camp
Girls 8-13 (2020 Graduates or later are welcome)
Location: Connecticut Sportsplex- North Branford, CT
Monday, July 20, 2015 to Thursday, July 23, 2015
Starts: 9:00am / Ends: 4:00pm
Camp Cost: $240.00
The major camp objective is to provide each participant with a great learning experience in the fundamentals of the game of softball.
Girls ages 8-13 years old - participants must not have entered 9th grade - any athletes graduating in 2020 or later will be welcome. High school athletes should attend the Advanced Clinics, which can be found on the main Bulldog Softball Camps page. (http://collegesoftballcamps.com/bulldogs)
PLEASE NOTE:Campers may take part in ANY section of the skill work that is applicable to their position and are NOT required to take part in all drills. A sample of camp drills can be found below.
Offensive Drills:(swing mechanics, generating power, situational hitting, the short-game, increasing quality at-bats, hitting off of pitchers, etc)
Defensive Drills:(glove work fundamentals, position specific drill work, primary defensive position skill development, secondary defensive position skill development, increasing throwing velocity & accuracy, situational defense, arm care, etc)
Catching Drills:(catching fundamentals: receiving/framing, blocking, increasing throwing velocity & accuracy, situational defense, building the umpire-catcher & pitcher-catcher in-game relationships, catching for pitchers during portions of camp)
Pitching Drills:(pitching fundamentals, increasing pitch velocity, mastering the change up, taking pitch movement to the next level, the mental game, pitching to catchers during portions of camp, arm care, etc)
Base Running Drills:(base running fundamentals, situational base running, sliding, etc
What to bring:
Softball Gear: please bring your own glove, bat, batting helmet, cleats and sneakers - clearly labeled.** If you plan on working in the catcher position, please bring your own shin guards, chest protector and helmet.**
Water bottle (clearly labeled, and refillable throughout the day) Hat
Lunch (if not buying. see lunch program below) as well as an extra snack for snack time (or snack money).
A camp t-shirt is included.
09:30am- Station Work & Skill Work
11:30am- Break for Lunch
12:30pm- Chalk Talk
01:00pm- Position Work
02:15pm- Team Time/Games
04:00pm- End of Day
Early drop off is available from 7:30 - 8:45. Late pick up is available from 4:15 to 5:30. This service is provided by the Connecticut Sportsplex (not Goin' Yard Softball LLC). Activities will be planned during these times. The fee for this additional service is $40.If you choose to sign up for this program you will need to pay separately on the first day of camp.
Open to girls ages 8-13. (Participant must not have entered 9th grade) Bulldog Softball camps are open to any and all entrants who meet the gender and age limits.
Please check in 30 minutes prior to the start time on the first day, and 15 minutes before the start time on the following three days. We will start promptly at 9am on each day of camp.

This clinic will be held at the Connecticut Sportsplex 216 Foxon Road, North Branford, CT 06471.
The Connecticut Sportsplex Summer Camp offers a variety of fresh, healthy foods for lunch. Campers have several choices for lunch each day, such as sandwiches, grilled cheese, select items from our grill, fruit, vegetables, chips, juice, and milk. The meal plan is only $32 per week or $8 per day. This program is run by the Connecticut Sportsplex.If you choose to sign up for this program you will need to pay separately on the first day of camp.
This is not an overnight camp. Players traveling from out of town will be responsible for securing their own hotel accommodations.
